Manual Opt Out of (2024)

Step 1: Go to Acxiom’s optout page:

Step 2: Scroll down until you find their optout form. You can choose what information you wish to remove, however I suggest removing all available information (mailing address, phone number, and email address). Fill out the form, making sure you “add” each piece of information to the form by hitting the plus signs to the right of each field (found in the red circles in the image below).

Step 3: Confirm your email, complete the CAPTCHA, and click “SUBMIT”. You will be sent a confirmation email so make sure you provide a valid email address.

Step 4: Go to your inbox and find the email from Acxiom. Click the link they provide for you.

Step 5: Complete one last CAPTCHA and hit “SUBMIT”.

How long does it take to remove my information from Acxiom? Acxiom will generally honor opt-out requests in 7-10 days based on our experience, but it could be removed sooner or take longer.

Can my information be added back to  Yes, if they refresh their database you could have a new personal record available on their website. In addition to their data append business Acxiom also provides consumer information in the form of email lists and online audiences for brands to target by specific personal attributes such as gender, age, or political affiliation. 

How does Acxiom get my information?

Acxiom indexes publicly available data. However, the majority of their information comes from purchasing directly from other data providers in the form of data feeds or partnering with brands who in turn sell Acxiom your purchase data. These partnerships could for example be automotive dealer networks, credit card companies, or online publisher websites such as newsletters.
